Mechanical Materials Testing

The requirements made on castings are constantly rising. The specialists at BDG-Service GmbH are capable of characterising the properties of both casting materials and cast parts and showing potential improvements. In close cooperation with customers solutions are found for increasing the performance of cast components.

For materials testing the Service GmbH boasts all customary processes for static, dynamic and cyclical characterization of the mechanical-technical properties of the various materials for loads as high as 250 kN and a temperature range of -196 to 1200 °C. In addition to destructive materials testing methods, our Service GmbH also offers all conventional materials tests. The samples are produced using high-quality CNC machinery, which also makes for high consistency and tight tolerances with larger sample quantities. All materials are tested based on the relevant valid standards and test specifications (EN, DIN, ISO, ASTM, SEP etc.). Any deviating tests shall be stipulated on a case-by-case basis.

All lab services rendered by Service GmbH have been tested in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standards and have received the “EXCELLENCE LABORATORY Technische Compliance-Level 1” mark by GAZ GmbH. The laboratory was able to prove that it complies with the GAZ criteria for laboratories as part of the Technical Compliance-Level 1, Modules L1, L2, L3 and L4t. This also includes the requirements of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Chapter 5 as well as the Certificates of Conformity in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
