Moulding Materials Laboratory

Process optimisation in mould and core making, for instance, is a pivotal task in production and moulding material engineering. This also includes the detection of root causes for sand-induced casting defects. Service GmbH can count on a high-performance moulding material laboratory that can provide comprehensive testing of mould materials, moulding sands, regenerates, additives and auxiliary materials for mould and core making with a view to taking remedial measures and/or achieving lasting process optimisation.

  • Granulometric parameters are determined using screen analysis
  • Analysis of mould materials, alumina-bound moulding sands and chemically bound moulding materials
  • Analysis of bentonites, additives containing hydrocarbon and mould coatings (black dressing and washes)

In our moulding materials analysis we work in accordance with VDG Specifications, BDG Specs and the German Unitary Procedure (for testing).

All lab services rendered by Service GmbH have been tested in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standards and have received the “EXCELLENCE LABORATORY Technische Compliance-Level 1” mark by GAZ GmbH. The laboratory was able to prove that it complies with the GAZ criteria for laboratories as part of the Technical Compliance-Level 1, Modules L1, L2, L3 and L4t. This also includes the requirements of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Chapter 5 as well as the Certificates of Conformity in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
